Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) During Pregnancy

This is beneficial to an expectant mother.  It addresses the many changes your body undergoes throughout pregnancy and can help alleviate many discomforts. 

Performed in side-lying position after the first trimester, pregnancy massage has many benefits to expectant mothers.Pregnancy massage has been found to reduce stress, decrease swelling in the arms and legs, and relieve aches and pains in muscles and joints. It is helpful to reduce low back, hip and neck pain, when choices for pain relief, such as medication, are often limited.

Massage can sometimes help reduce feelings of nausea and calm stressful emotions.  In general, not only can massage be physically beneficial, but the human touch can be comforting and provide emotional support during pregnancy.  

Massage therapy has been found to reduce anxiety and depression, which is also very helpful in post-natal treatments, when one can feel overwhelmed or experience post-partum depression.  This is also a great time to relax and let go on the massage table, since most new moms are more than a little sleep-deprived!
